Props

Props of the ButtonBase component are also available.

Name	Type	Default	Description
children	node	-	The content of the component.
classes	object	-	Override or extend the styles applied to the component. See CSS classes API below for more details.
expandIcon	node	-	The icon to display as the expand indicator.
focusVisibleClassName	string	-	This prop can help identify which element has keyboard focus. The class name will be applied when the element gains the focus through keyboard interaction. It's a polyfill for the CSS :focus-visible selector. The rationale for using this feature is explained here. A polyfill can be used to apply a `focus-visible` class to other components if needed.
slotProps	{ content?: func \| object, expandIconWrapper?: func \| object, root?: func \| object }	{}	The props used for each slot inside.
slots	{ content?: elementType, expandIconWrapper?: elementType, root?: elementType }	{}	The components used for each slot inside.
sx	Array<func \| object \| bool> \| func \| object	-	The system prop that allows defining system overrides as well as additional CSS styles. See the `sx` page for more details.

The ref is forwarded to the root element.

Inheritance

While not explicitly documented above, the props of the ButtonBase component are also available in AccordionSummary. You can take advantage of this to target nested components.

Theme default props

You can use MuiAccordionSummary to change the default props of this component with the theme.

content	.MuiAccordionSummary-content	`div`	The component that renders the content slot.
expandIconWrapper	.MuiAccordionSummary-expandIconWrapper	`div`	The component that renders the expand icon wrapper slot.

CSS classes

These class names are useful for styling with CSS. They are applied to the component's slots when specific states are triggered.

.Mui-disabled		State class applied to the root element if `disabled={true}`.
.Mui-expanded		State class applied to the root element, children wrapper element and `IconButton` component if `expanded={true}`.
.Mui-focusVisible		State class applied to the ButtonBase root element if the button is keyboard focused.
.MuiAccordionSummary-contentGutters	contentGutters	Styles applied to the children wrapper element unless `disableGutters={true}`. Deprecated－Combine the .MuiAccordionSummary-gutters and .MuiAccordionSummary-content classes instead. See Migrating from deprecated APIs for more details.
.MuiAccordionSummary-gutters	gutters	Styles applied to the root element unless `disableGutters={true}`.

You can override the style of the component using one of these customization options:

With a global class name.
With a rule name as part of the component's styleOverrides property in a custom theme.
